Overview
Dr. Abdul Malik Syed is currently a Supervisor of the Finance Department and a faculty member in the College of Business Administration, UBT. He is a Ph.D. in Management (Banking & Finance) and has graduated with a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce degree from Osmania University, India; he also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Planning and Project Management from the University of Hyderabad, India. He has a collective experience of more than 20 years in the industry, academics, consultancy, and research.
He was awarded the Best Faculty Award 2015 for his overall achievements in Teaching, Research, and Service in College of Business Administration, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University. He spearheaded the programmatic Quality improvement efforts as the founding Assistant Dean (Quality & Development) and was instrumental in attaining the college's both national and international accreditations.
His research papers were published in various national and international peer-reviewed journals ISI & Scopus indexed. His research article entitled, “CRM- a vital business tool for bankers” was included as a chapter in a book. He has conducted several training programs in Financial Modelling for professionals and a dozen workshops in Educational Quality Management for University staff. He is also well versed with R-Programming and led a two-day workshop for Ph.D. Scholars on "R-Programming Applications in Business Research".
He was instrumental in securing approximately US $2.3 million funds from the World Bank’s Development Innovation Fund (DIF) by competitive bidding for the establishment of an MBA program and a program of undergraduate studies in Public & Development Management in Mekelle University, Ethiopia. He had experience sharing/study visits to different universities in South Africa, Germany, Belgium, France, and Finland.
